Commitment to COVID-19 Safety and Care

Connecting You to Quality Health Services Across COVID-19 Safety in Mind

COVID-19 Safety Protocol

At Joyfulsisters, we prioritize the health and safety of our clients, staff, and their families. To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we continue to uphold stringent safety measures, asking all staff to follow these protocols diligently. Working together responsibly is crucial to keeping everyone safe.

Our policies will adapt as we receive updates from official health sources, and all changes will be promptly communicated via email and secure messaging.

If any staff member feels uncomfortable, requires additional PPE, or wishes to discuss their current assignments, please contact Joyfulsisters management for support. We are committed to assisting you in every way we can, and we deeply appreciate your dedication to protecting our clients.

Vaccination and Staff Safety

Joyfulsisters has been working closely with our staff to ensure their safety during the pandemic. Many staff members are now fully vaccinated. Any caregiver who would like assistance with scheduling a vaccination appointment is encouraged to speak with Joyfulsisters management.

Protocols for Caregivers Working with Clients

  • In the Client’s Home

    • Caregivers should wash their hands upon entering and leaving the client’s home and continue to do so frequently throughout the shift.
    • Masks and gloves must be worn during all hands-on care.
    • If a caregiver experiences any symptoms of illness, they should not report to work. Arrangements will be made to ensure coverage for the shift.
  • In Facilities

    • Caregivers working in facilities must follow the facility’s safety protocols, including wearing provided protective gear and answering health screening questions upon arrival.
    • Temperature checks are required at shift start. If a caregiver’s temperature is 100°F or above, they will be sent home for COVID-19 testing and must provide a negative test result to Joyfulsisters and the facility before returning.
    • Should a caregiver test positive, Joyfulsisters will notify all relevant contacts, and the caregiver must remain out of work until symptom-free and able to provide a negative COVID-19 test result.

Mask Guidelines (Based on CDC Recommendations)

To protect yourself and others, please follow these guidelines for mask use:

  • Fit: Ensure your mask fits snugly without gaps.
  • Layers: Choose masks with multiple layers for better protection.
  • Proper Wear: Wear the mask over your nose and mouth, secured under your chin.
  • Nose Wire: Masks with a nose wire can prevent air leakage around the nose.
  • Avoid Combining Masks: Do not layer disposable masks or wear a KN95 with another mask.

Storing and Cleaning Masks

  • Store wet or dirty masks in a sealed plastic bag until they can be washed.
  • Dry masks can be temporarily stored in a breathable paper bag.
  • Wash cloth masks daily or whenever they become soiled.
    • Machine Washing: Include your mask with regular laundry.
    • Hand Washing: Use tap water and detergent, rinse thoroughly.
  • Drying: Dry in a warm dryer or air dry in direct sunlight.
